In a bold return to the Big Apple, iconic jewelry house Marina B. has officially opened its new boutique at 673 Madison Avenue, marking a vibrant new chapter in its storied legacy.
Once the brainchild of the trailblazing Marina Bulgari, who famously broke away from her family’s illustrious jewelry empire in 1978 to forge her own path, Marina B. quickly captivated style icons like Liza Minnelli, Bianca Jagger, and Sophia Loren with its audacious, sculptural designs.
Today, the brand is in the hands of Guy Bedarida, a renowned high jewelry designer and creative director who acquired Marina B. nearly eight years ago.
With deep respect for Marina’s original vision and a sharp eye on modern luxury, Bedarida has painstakingly revived the label—honoring its past while charting a glamorous future.
The jewel-box-sized boutique—just 320 square feet—sits in a coveted corner once occupied by Aaron Basha, flanked by high-end neighbors like Van Cleef & Arpels and Tom Ford.
The boutique’s French designer Nicolas Robert channeled the bold opulence of the 1980s to create a space that echoes Marina Bulgari’s unmistakable aesthetic. “It’s my interpretation of the Eighties—where color and opulence reigned supreme,” Bedarida said.
Inside, royal blue walls and a hot pink rug strike an electric contrast, echoing the spirit of Marina B.’s golden era. Thoughtfully curated pieces like a pink Lucite desk, a gold atom-ball mirror, and a vibrant Victor Vasarely print lend an artistic, avant-garde feel.
Many of the furnishings were sourced from the famed Puce de St. Ouen flea market in Paris, infusing the space with a global sophistication.
This Madison Avenue debut isn’t just a retail expansion—it’s a celebration of Marina B.’s timeless allure and a reinvention for the next generation of collectors. As New York’s luxury landscape shifts from Fifth to Madison Avenue, Marina B. has once again staked its claim at the center of style.
